Created as part of the "Carte Blanche" series of short films accompanying the 40e Festival du nouveau cinéma, Montreal (40th Festival of new cinema) Denis Villeneuve created this visual experiement of a film. Non-narrative, a visual collage/effect. The disorienting rock "music" mixes with the strobo effect of the red and green oscillating canvas. Does the frame-rate vary? Is it the perception playing a trick on the audience? More a visual trick, than a an actual film, compiled on a single computer in a hotel room.
