Notes | This spot from the new 2005 coca-cola ad campaign is a remake of the original 1971 spot _Hilltop_. Back then, in the original spot, a group of multicultural young adults gathered on a hilltop in Italy. Together they sung the now famous song _I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke_ which also introduced the even more famous tagline _It's the Real Thing_. This remake of this classic ad was shot on a rooftop in Philadelphia featuring a group of friends chilling together. The song is sung by artist G. Love. From the coca-cola press release: 'Like _Hilltop_, the music in _Chilltop_ remains central to the ad, but has been re-envisioned as I'd Like to Teach the World To Chill. While retaining the spirit of the original song, G.Love has adapted the classic tune with an upbeat rhythm and edgier, contemporary lyrics that lay out the 'chillosophy' of taking downtime on your own terms. The new words clearly capture the essence of Coca-Cola Zero -- real Coca-Cola taste plus nothing.' |
